10 ways to increase your CTR

The banner is the most common way to advertise on the Internet and among the various billing methods, two stand out: the payment for printing or PPC.

If you take a click campaign, your chances are limited because in fact you pay to the result, instead of a print campaign where you do a sort of bet on the outcome of the promotion.

The first is to be reserved for campaigns seeking clients or if you are addressing a market niche not fully known, however, the second option is for you if you want to highlight your image (brand awareness), or if you think you can generate significant clickthrough rates.

The clickthrough rate went from 5% (5 clicks on the banner for 100 views) to less than 1% over the last five years. This fall is mainly due to the increased number of banners on the sites, which caused them to lose their next “innovation”.

However, it should be noted that the results depend strongly on the site where the banners are placed, the rates can vary widely. For example, the following rates have been measured recently on major international sites: Infoseek (http://www.infoseek.com) 1.1%, WebCrawler (http://www.webcrawler.com) 0.7% HotWired (http://www.wired.com) 2.8%. It is not unusual to encounter rate of around 8% on some very targeted sites.

The level of response will also depend on quality headband, some bands can generate a rate of 15 to 20%. Use the tips below to increase your results.

1. Are promoting a product or service free.
People looking for free, especially on the Internet.

2. Offer a discount for people who click on the banner.
Everyone looks for the best offer and best price. This discount can also take the form of a percentage reduction, a fixed discount, an offer “one bought, one free” …

3. Induce the urgency with a time limit to the offer you make.
A message such as “offer valid until 30 May” or “limited to first 50 orders will” increase the responses.

4. Ask people to click!
The word “Click!” increase the rate of clicks by a ratio of 20% to 30%. Remember that most people are passive in front of their screen and want to be guided.

5. Use the testimony of one of your customers like your banner text.
The recommendation increases your credibility and demonstrates the usefulness of your products.

6. Highlight the guarantees associated with your services.
The bond must be strong enough to sell the product alone. For example, discuss with your legal and marketing departments of the following: lifetime warranty, money back twice, guaranteed results …

7. Make use of powerful words in your texts.
Words that are turning people are, for example: free, unique, new, exclusive, unique …

8. Focus on the banner that customers derive benefits from the use of your products or services.
Nobody cares that you develop your pages with a “super-cooled system with compressed air by a hard disk overboosted Syber” cons for your clients want to make money, save money, work faster, lose weight, save time …

9. Provoke people.
Want to try reverse psychology where you ask people not to do something. If I say “do not think of a small white poodle,” What’s going on? Same thing if you tell your children “especially does not turn the TV during our absence.” Why not tell your bands “do not click here” or “do not click here if you’re happy with your weight.”

10. In everything you say, stay honest.
Do not give guarantees that you will not take, avoid the touts bands that do not meet your performance and keep it simple.
